I turned it on very briefly for the telnet protocol, hit F4 in the normal program and then turned it off. For those that had wondered about Bucko’s Image BBS v2. Finally I had a DUH! moment and loaded Wireshark again. Thanks to Bucko for his package of Image BBS v2.0 on a stick it is easier than ever to install and log in to this classic BBS software I put together about an 18 minute video showing a quick walk through of setting up Image BBS on Windows then I fire up SyncTerm to log in to the BBS. The program we use at work does special things when you press any of them and I needed to duplicate that, especially F4 which will back out to the previous menu. SyncTerm, netrunner, or TinTin++ to provide character-at-a-time editing. The part that bothered me the most was figuring out exactly what the server expected when the user pressed any of the function keys. The example shell telsh allows changing encoding on the fly by setting the. From there it was working out a simple way to script. I figured out exactly how to negotiate a connection based on that code and the lovely Wireshark program. That gave me a boost since the source code was available (in C). In the right-hand pane, double-click on Set a default associations configuration file. Go to the following tree in the left hand pane: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > File Explorer. I read a little bit on how telnet worked and then found the netcat program. This will open the local group policy editor. I needed to be able to do some telnet stuff (log in based on stored username and password and then some scripting) and so I wrote my own little thing to do it.
